Description:


The tour will start in Stepanakert. First we will visit the Nikol Duman House Museum and will continue to Vank village. In Vank the guests can walk around, go to a restaurant or a café, and see the famous Lion carved of the rock. It is a five-minute ride from the village of Vank to the Gandzasar. From the Gandzasar Monastery the tour will continue to the Tigranakert Museum, passing through the town of Askeran. On the way the group can see the Askeran fortress and in the distance the city of Aghdam. The Museum in Tigranakert provides multilingual tours.

An off-road ride to the small church on top of the hill called Vankasar will be organized. On the way back to Stepanakert we will stop near the Karkar river for a picnic. Right before entering the city the group will stop at the "We Are Our Mountains” or as people say "Grandma and Grandpa” monument.


 


Duration:


It will take about 30 minutes to drive to the Nikol Duman House Museum. The tour inside the museum will take 30-45 minutes, afterwards we will drive to the village of Vank, which will take 20 minutes. It is a 5-minute drive from Vank to Gandzasar Monastery. It will take about 50 minutes to get from the Gandzasar Monastery to the main highway. The next stop will be in 40-50 minutes in Tigranakert. We will need to hike about 15 minutes to reach Tigranakert’s main excavation site. The drive from Tigranakert back to Stepanakert is around 1 hour.
